Description

Pujanza is a red wine from Bodegas y Viñedos Pujanza, made in Laguardia within D.O.Ca. Rioja from Tempranillo grown across 23 estate-owned plots located between 450 and 600 metres above sea level. The vineyards lie on calcareous clay soils, allowing the final blend to be adjusted each year according to the character of the harvest while preserving a style focused on freshness and Rioja Alavesa expression.

The grapes undergo five days of pre-fermentation maceration before fermenting in stainless steel tanks at 24 to 26 °C with daily pump-overs. Malolactic fermentation takes place in the same tanks, followed by 12 months in 225-litre French oak barrels. In the glass it shows red fruit, floral notes and subtle toast. The palate is powerful and expressive, with bright acidity, fine, approachable tannins and a persistent finish.
