WSET Courses Level 2 in wines

Build your wine knowledge with our most popular course. With a focus on grape varieties, you’ll look behind the label at many of the world’s most important wines.

The WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is the perfect wine course for beginners wishing to learn about a wide range of grapes and styles, as well as those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained with the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines. You’ll gain enviable knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce.This qualification has a minimum requirement of 28 hours of study time, including 16 hours of guided learning, 11 hours of personal study and revision and a 1 hour examination.

About WSET Courses Level 2 in Wines

– The course includes 4 days of class and 1 day of exam.

– The course will be in Spanish or English.

– Price: €850 (IVA inc). This includes all materials and costs for exam.

2. How environmental factors, grape-growing, winemaking and maturation options influence the style and quality of wines made from eight principal grape varieties

3. The style and quality of wine

4. How grape varieties and winemaking processes influence key styles of Sparkling wine and Fortified wines

5. Key labelling terms used to indicate origin, style and quality

6. Principles and processes involved in the storage and service of wine

7. Principles of food and wine pairing

The Level 2 Award in Wines examination consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, the student must answer 55% to pass the exam.

The course may be partially eligible for funding through Fundae if the requirements are met. As this is considered a higher education course, a subsidy of €13 per teaching hour may be granted. If you are interested in applying for this funding, please contact us and we will provide you with the requirements and procedures. The subsidy is managed by an external company, which charges a small fee directly to students, as stipulated by Fundae. Please note that the minimum deadline for submitting the required documentation to Fundae is 10 days prior to the start of the course.
