WSET Wines Courses

At The Wine Place, the WSET Level 1, 2 and 3 Award in Wines courses are delivered personally by Mark O’Neill, DipWSET.

These qualifications provide internationally recognized wine education that is structured, rigorous, and highly regarded worldwide—ideal for anyone seeking to build in-depth wine knowledge, from the fundamentals through to intermediate and advanced levels.

You will learn both theory and practice: tasting, techniques, grape varieties, wine regions, and sensory evaluation, all taught under official WSET standards.

TIME: 1 day (including the exam)

LANGUAGES: English

EXAM: 30 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 45 minutes. To pass you must correctly answer 70% of the questions

EXAM: 50 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 60 minutes. To pass you must correctly answer 55% of the questions

TIME: 8 days + 1 exam day

LANGUAGES: English or Spanish

EXAM: 50 multiple-choice questions and short written answers (2 hours), plus a blind tasting of two wines (30 minutes). Student must attain a combined mark of 55% across the two part of the exam

Understanding the WSET wines courses

WSET qualifications are globally recognised as the international standard in wine and spirit knowledge. They are designed for those who are just starting out in their careers, as well as established professionals, and the many enthusiasts who have a passion for wines and spirits.
