Description

Nik Weis Saar Riesling is a VDP.Gutswein white made by Nik Weis – St. Urbans-Hof from Riesling grown in the Saar, within the wider Mosel region. The grapes come from the Wiltinger Schlangengraben vineyard, rooted in red slate soils, from vines around 40 to 60 years old. Founded in 1947, the family estate farms vineyards along both the Mosel and Saar with a strong focus on origin and natural terroir expression.

The wine is spontaneously fermented with native yeasts and matured in stainless steel. Its feinherb style combines juicy apple, pear, peach and apricot with floral, mineral and lightly smoky notes. The palate is light yet expressive, with lively acidity, well-balanced residual sweetness and a mineral finish that preserves the tension and elegance associated with Saar Riesling.
