Description
Veuve Ambal Grande Cuvée Blanc Brut is a Crémant de Bourgogne produced by one of Burgundy’s leading sparkling wine houses. Founded in 1898 and now run by the sixth generation of the family, Maison Veuve Ambal was a pioneer in the development of Crémant in Burgundy and is today the leading producer of Crémant de Bourgogne. The house cultivates more than 220 hectares of vineyards across different terroirs in the region, and this Grande Cuvée is one of its flagship wines.
Made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay and Aligoté grown on clay-limestone soils, the grapes are harvested by hand and undergo slow pressing. The base wines ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and, after secondary fermentation in bottle, the wine spends a minimum of twelve months on its lees before riddling and disgorgement. It shows fine, persistent bubbles, with aromas of white flowers, apple, pear and citrus, complemented by delicate notes of brioche and almond. The palate is fresh, creamy and balanced, with an elegant, persistent finish.
