Description

Tenuta San Guido Le Difese is a Toscana IGT red conceived as an introduction to the style of the Bolgheri estate associated with Sassicaia. Its first vintage was released in 2002, and the name refers to the wild boar tusks shown on the label. It blends estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese sourced from different areas of Tuscany, aiming for freshness, balance and an easy-going, food-friendly character.

The estate itself describes Le Difese as a young, soft wine with a delicate structure and notes that it can include selected lots from Sassicaia and Guidalberto. In the glass it shows red and dark fruit alongside floral, spicy and lightly balsamic notes. The palate remains fresh, with soft, well-integrated tannins and a clean, persistent finish, offering an approachable expression of the Tenuta San Guido style.
