Description

Domaine Taupenot-Merme Auxey-Duresses Blanc is a Côte de Beaune Chardonnay from a family estate whose winegrowing roots date back to the 18th century, now run by Virginie and Romain Taupenot. It comes from Auxey-Duresses, a neighbouring appellation to Meursault, where limestone and marl soils favour white wines with notable freshness and mineral definition.

Whole bunches are pressed and the must is cold settled before fermenting with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels, with only a restrained proportion of new oak, and ages on its lees for around 10 to 12 months. The glass shows white flowers, citrus and hazelnut, while the palate is lively, rounded and precise, finishing mineral and lightly buttery.
