Description

Critèra Primitivo is a red from Schola Sarmenti, made in Nardò in the heart of Salento from 100% Primitivo grown on relatively young vines of around 15 years. The winery uses this native variety to deliver a direct, recognisable expression of ripe fruit, supported by natural freshness and an approachable structure. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully placed in small ventilated crates to preserve their integrity on the way to the cellar.

Maturation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, with no oak ageing. The result is a fleshy, distinctly Mediterranean wine with a pronounced sense of ripe fruit, pleasant freshness and lively tannins wrapped in a soft texture. The palate is generous and balanced, finishing long and persistent while retaining the straightforward varietal character that defines Critèra.
