D’Arenberg Footbolt is made from gapes grown in the stunning McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills in South Australia. The winery was founded in 1912 and is now managed by the 4th generation of the Osborn family. Joseph Osborn was a successful racehorse owner and Footbolt was the pride of his stable. In 1912 he made the hard decision to sell his horses to purchase the d’Arenberg property. The Footbolt Shiraz is a firm favourite with many McLaren Vale Shiraz lovers and for good reason. The wine is basked pressed and then transferred to a mixture of new and used French and American oak barrels to complete the fermentation, then aged on leese. The wine is not fined or filtered prior to bottling.
