This wine is made from a blend of grapes grown in vineyards belonging to the Hernáiz family in the villages of Fuenmayor, Cenicero, Navarrete, Hornos de Moncalvillo and Baños de Rioja, all of which are located in Rioja Alta. The bush vines have an average age of 50 – 65 years at an altitude of 570m. Made in concrete and stainless steel tanks, at low temperatures and with gentle pump-overs. The wine is aged 14 months in new French oak (60%) and American second year (40%) barrels.
The term ‘Viñedo Singular’ is the highest quality category of the D.O.Ca Rioja, which recognises the uniqueness of a vineyard which, due to its cha- racteristics, is different and distinct from those of its surroundings, and from which wines with exceptional qualities are obtained.
