D’Arenberg The Olive Grove Chardonnay is made from gapes grown in the stunning McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills in South Australia. The winery was founded in 1912 and is now managed by the 4th generation of the D’Arenberg family. Since European settlement in the 1840’s olive trees have thrived in South Australia. They are alongside roads, in gardens and occasionally in the middle of the Chardonnay vineyards, hence the name of this wines. Small batches of grapes are gently crushed, chilled and then basked pressed. To add complexity and mouthfeel the wine is fermented and matured in a mixture of French and American oak barrels for seven months.
