Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos, Patricius
Tokaji Aszú is one of the most famous sweet wines in the world. The wines are classified by a system labelled as Puttonyos, the higher the Puttonyos the higher the percentage of botrytized grapes used; making the wine richer and sweeter. This wine is the top with 6 Puttonyos. Patricius Winery is in the Tokaji region of Hungary. It was established by the Kékessy family, who has a long history of winegrowing in both Tokaji and Mátra dating back to the 1700s.
This is a sweet wine notable for its aromas of marmalade, dried apricots spices and honey. On the palate it is rich and smooth, with flavours from the aromas coming through, leaving a deliciously long finish.
Served lightly chilled Tokaji Aszú is excellent with several kind of cheeses, especially blue cheeses such as Roquefort or Stilton to contrast the saltiness.
