The Stump Jack Shiraz 2012
The Stump Jack Shiraz 2012 is from D’Arenberg the stunning McLaren Vale in South Australia. The winery was founded in 1912 and is now managed by the 4th generation of the family. The name comes from the Stump Jump plough, designed to ride over stumps and roots saving time and energy.
Small batches of grapes are gently crushed and then transferred to open fermenters. Foot treading is undertaken two thirds of the way through fermentation, the wine is basket pressed and then aged in French oak for up to 18 months.
A generous and juicy McLaren Vale Shiraz, loaded with sweet fruits, blackberry, plum, raspberry, contrasted by complexing subtleties of spice, earth and game.
Ideal with grilled pork chops, roast lamb or ‘chilli con carne’.
