Marea Valle de Leyda Syrah

Origin

Marea Valle de Leyda Syrah come from the Leyda Valley, an exciting emerging coastal region for growing premium cool climate varieties of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. Leyda Valley, which is located within the San Antonio DO, benefits from the tempering effects of the Pacific Ocean and granite soils of loamy clay with abundant quartz on the surface, leading to fresh wines with expressive aromas and fruit, minerality and a touch of salinity. The Maipo river which flows through it brings large volumes of snow-melt water for irrigation. LFE’s Marea estate, one of the closest to the sea in Leyda Valley, is planted predominantly with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, with smaller plots of Chardonnay and Syrah.

Style

Deep and dark garnet-violet in color with layers of aromas of blackberry, cherry, olives, spices, tobacco, minerals and grafite. This is a deep and complex wine, that is fresh and juicy, with present tannins.

Food Pairing

Roast turkey and beef, game, lightly-spiced Oriental dishes
