Maison Saturnin Grenache Blanc
Maison Saturnin Grenache Blanc is produced by the Laudun Chusclan Vignerons, a cooperative formed in 1998 by the coming together of the areas of Laudun and Chusclan. Realising that they would be stronger together than apart the two existing cooperatives merged and started producing wines.
The Vignerons have had a long-standing commitment to the environment and by 2010 85% of the vineyards were certified sustainable. The Vignerons also look to the future by making it possible for aspiring “coopérateurs” to have access to land for cultivation, keeping young people in the area, and industry, that they love.
Given the proximity of Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation it’s perhaps not surprising that Grenache is the chief grape of the Laudun Chusclan Vignerons. A white Granache is a little unusual with the grape much more commonly finding expression in red and rosé wines.
Maison Saturnin Grenache Blanc has a beautiful golden yellow colour. Nose focused on floral notes, which compliment the mineral freshness of this wine on the palate.
A really versatile white this would be great with shellfish and fish but equally well matched to white meat and could even be served with Tapas.
