Fiabesco Prosecco Treviso, wine from Italy
Fiabesco Prosecco Treviso DOC NV is a classic sparkling wine of northern Italy, made with grapes from the hillside vineyards in the Treviso region, using the Charmat method, whereby the wine is allowed to ferment in a steel autoclave, achieving its spritz while maintaining a youthful fruit profile. This makes for a perfect crowd-pleasing thirst quencher, as well as a budget-friendly alternative to Champagne for wedding toasts.
Illicium Heartland, wine from Australia
Named for the Illicium Verum [Latin for Star Anise] a spice note found by many tasters of Heartland and Langhorne Creek. Grant Tilbrook, Scott Collett and Ben Glaetzer form the backbone and foundation of Heartland Wines, in Langhorne Creek, 80km south east of Adelaide in South Australia. Grapes have been grown here since the 1850s. It is also home to the world’s oldest recorded Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, dating back to 1891. These are cool climate vineyards, with winds from Antarctic and Southern ocean. The Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon are fermented separately from two distinct parcels chosen for their greater vineyard character. Twelve months in barrel offers a better balanced structure.
FRAM Shiraz, vino de Sudáfrica
Near to the vineyards of FRAM Shiraz there is an old sign that reads “Welcome to Shiraz country”. It was true many moons ago and is still just as true today. This wine is from a selection of vineyards around the Swartland, South Africa and is the dream and vision of winemaker Thinus Krüger.
